In response to a growing need to combat POVERTY IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY, we believe that "one light of hope" can be the defining moment in a person's life--including those who do not qualify for traditional assistance programs.
We offer a light toWOMEN, young adults and families in the form of food, clothing, housing, transportation and provide workshops, training and life management skills to help guide them toward self-sufficiency.
With your help, we can provide first response assistance to those in need.
OUR MISSION: To help at-risk individuals, with community, escape a cycle of poverty, who are often exploited and left without resources or hope, when the doors of traditional assistance programs are closed. By providing them A New Beginning NOW to become self-sufficient while maintaining dignity through innovative economic development strategies, life skills programs and case management services.
THE EIGHT is a 501(c)(3) Public Benefit Charity and through our distribution and empowerment programs we provide a range of services to assist at-risk women, children and individuals, including but not limited to: victims of domestic violence, displacement, decreased income, and ex-offenders in attaining the skills, knowledge, and motivation necessary to achieve self-sufficiency. The program also provides immediate life necessities such as food, shelter, transportation and health care needs, etc. In addition, services are provided for the revitalization of low-income communities and the reduction of poverty.
