On July 4, 2008 during the 2nd Annual Acts-of-Kindness Free Water Giveaway, over 1,750 Coachella Valley residents enjoyed FREE ice cold bottles of water as they prepared to witness the fabulous fireworks extravaganza in Palm Springs California.
THE EIGHT is proud to be a Families On The Frontline "Acts-of-Kindness" partner for the past two years-a program implemented through Ark Almighty and inspired by the movie "Evan Almighty" (Universal). We love the idea of "giving -- with No Strings Attached." The smiles and hugs were priceless.
This annual event would not have been possible without the endearing support of the members of (RTOF) in Palm Springs. Together including a host of volunteers representing the entire Coachella Valley passed out free bottles of water.
The concept is to show our community, through "unity", that we care about them by offering a wonderful smile, kind words, and free water to keep them hydrated during the hot summer day with No Strings Attached. Additionally, we strongly respect and support the producers of the event by making sure we compliment and not compete with their sponsors and vendors. Each year we stand on the corners and in the parking lots between Farrell and Baristo (a block or two away from the event.) Last year we gave away 750 bottles of free water. This year, our goal was to giveaway 1500 bottles of water, however we exceeded our goal and were able to giveaway 1750 bottles of free water.
