Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the most effective long-term method used (without any side effects) for anxiety, depression, panic attacks, agoraphobia and other related behavioral issues. Proven techniques will be utilized by STR8 to assist with overcoming these disorders. The young adult learns how to recognize the thoughts, behaviors, and reactions that creates distress and then show them how to change these negative, anxiety-producing habits. This alternative approach is ideal for young adults because there are no prescribed medications dispensed in association with this program. The STR8 will also provide outlets in which participants will have access to health and nutritional information, products and services.
As an incentive and upon completion of the first component, young adults will then be eligible for a Certificate of Completion and will also have the opportunity to highlight their talent during the bi-annual Families On The Frontline (FOTF) Graduation Ceremonies and Festivals.
