THE EIGHT programs; Women In Need Now (WINN) and Families on the Frontline (FOTF) are established with building community, ending poverty and obtaining self-sufficiency as its priority.  In 2008 and with the help of Community via our Purposed Inspired Network (PIN) providers, we provided first response services to over 10,000 individuals in need of immediate help, with no grants or government funding.   We are not trying to circumvent the system, but the demands of women, children and families are overwhelming and THE EIGHT/WINN are out in the community working with little when there is much to do. In today's economy we are all "at-risk" and now is the time where traditional assistance programs due to processes and protocol may not be able to help in a timely fashion and therefore, too many people fall through the cracks.
THE EIGHT with your help can provide the cement to mend these cracks.

Our previous success lends itself to In-Kind support (99.9%), from our board members, families and friends.  When we are approached with a need, we immediately source resolution. We believe in developing a strong support system for the individual to include, mentorship and resources through our PINs.  The majority of people we help are "situational poverty" profiles--meaning they may have a job or hours are cut or no longer, they may own a home or car but are at risk of foreclosure and in need of repairs, health issues or divorce/death of a spouse may have created a down spiral of unforeseen expenses.  This profile is often looked over. We also assist "generational poverty" profiles.  We help to build the individual through addressing basic needs first and then work with them on a case-by-case basis to establish long-term goals toward self-sufficiency.  Our philosophy is to "rewrite the script" by replacing the negative experience with positive ones. Oftentimes, individuals are intimidated with all the paperwork or even some are in an emergency state, they need help "NOW!"  But embarrassed to ask.  THE EIGHT/WINN distribution during community events, offers the opportunity to give away basic necessities, with no-strings attached. The individual have the option to fill out a short questionnaire asking "Can we help you with anything else?"  This opens the door for the individual to contact us and we then begin to investigate the core issues.  Our booth during KUNA Telemundo's anniversary at the Date Festival Fairgrounds had a turnout of over 25,000 people.  Our booth, during the event distributed over thousands of back to school items, hygiene, diapers, and clothing and had a follow-up of over 1,500 phone calls requesting help.  We were able to assist each one with at least one of their needs and were able to refer them to other agencies and to some of our PIN providers. giveaway,THE EIGHT,Women in Need Now,Ark Almighty,Evan Almighty,Universal,Coachella Valley,No Strings Attached,Free,Basic,Needs, children, hygiene, non profit
